Braintree district: Clinton Cards store sold to American firm

A card store which was in danger of closing has been sold to an American firm.

Clinton Cards in George Yard, Braintree, is now under the control of Lakeshore Lending Ltd, a subsidiary of American Greetings Corp.

Clintons collapsed after initially debts were called in by its American supplier last month.

The Witham store in the Grove Centre will remain under the control of administrators Zolfo Cooper.
