Residents who have to trek a mile to their nearest post box want their destroyed one reinstated.

The post box, on Faulkbourne Road, was smashed into by a car last November and people want it back because its of historical aspect and convenience.

White Notley and Faulkbourne parish councillor John Fraser said residents have to walk more than a mile through fields to the nearest one.

Historical? What drivel is that? Whine whine whine with no real talent for reality! Obviously the convenience factor is of interest to locals. Nonetheless the Post Office business model as a whole needs revamping. Seriously - post boxes?

Here's an idea. "Postie" already comes to the house to deliver: How about also pick up too? There's convenience - and efficiency too.
