Schoolchildren were encouraged to do their bit to help conserve water during a special educational event.
The Water Wonderful Day was held at the Discovery Centre in Great Notley and was attended by pupils from Rayne, John Bunyan, White Court and Felsted primary schools The day was a joint initiative between Anglian Water and Braintree District Council.
Pupils got hands-on as they discovered more about the water cycle, the way water is used and how we can conserve it .
During the day the children were challenged to come up with ways to inspire their school to become more water-wise and got the chance to design and build their own water network.
Ellie Pluck, Anglian Water’s community education manager, said: “Working with the council on projects like the Green Heart of Essex campaign is a fantastic way to work with future generations to create a more sustainable way of living.
“All of the pupils were incredibly enthusiastic and came up with some really exciting ideas to inspire their schools and other pupils.”
