Witham: Fpur suspected illegal immigrants arrested
Police arrested four suspected illegal immigrants who were found in a lorry on an industrial estate.
Officers were called to Perry Way, Witham, at about 10.30am on Monday after reports of three Eritrean women and an Ethiopian man being found.
The suspected illegal immigrants did not try to run and were taken to Braintree Police station.
A UK Border Agency spokesman said: “When suspected illegal immigrants are found on lorries our officers attend quickly.
“We continue to work closely with police to tackle illegal immigration and immigration crime.
“Where an individual is found to have no legal right to remain in the UK we will take action to remove them.”
The four have been taken into border agency detention.
