A family have spoken out over the dangers of an infection which can prove fatal to newborn babies.
Ally Mulqueen, of Kings Road, Braintree, is raising awareness of strep B which can cause meningitis.
Her grandson Alfie Bevan, now almost two months, was diagnosed with the illness when he was just three weeks old.
The family now want to raise awareness after the youngster survived the ordeal and was allowed home last week.
