Firemen worked for two hours to rescue a horse trapped in a 3ft deep river.
Three crews, including a specialist animal rescue unit and a water rescue unit, saved the animal from Rushes Lock near Bumfords Lane in Hatfield Peverel.
The firemen wore dry suits as they waded into the river to lead the horse to safety just after 1pm yesterday.
