Think of popular DIY programmes Groundforce and Changing Rooms, and you get an idea of how it will be when Witham Cricket Club opens its doors to a flurry of volunteers next week.
Former England and Middlesex captain Mike Gatting and Witham MP Priti Patel will be joining schoolchildren, college students, businessmen and townspeople to transform the clubhouse next Friday.
Many local businesses have donated tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment and building materials for free or offered them at discounted prices.
