Ninety-five dangerous people, including sex offenders, are waiting to be housed in Witham and elsewhere in the district.
Braintree Council manages the housing register, which currently has 95 people of “high risk to others” waiting to settle in the area.
Witham’s MP Priti Patel recently urged the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Justice, Crispin Blunt, to disclose the number of people living in the area who have served sentences for sex offences or sex offences with children.
But he was unable to provide such information.
