A couple found a live slug inside a sealed bag of potatoes.
Chris Eddy and Pamela Dowzall, of Coggeshall Road in Bradwell, bought the vegetables from Sainsbury’s in Tofts Walk, Braintree.
But they found the nasty surprise inside when they were preparing dinner on Wednesday.
Sainsbury’s has refunded £1.39 for the potatoes and given them £5 as a gesture of goodwill.
