Long awaited footbridges at two stations are finally being built.
Last October, it was announced the bridge at Witham would be finished by July 2011.
It is now due to be complete by next August, after more than ten years of campaigning by commuters.
And a bridge at Freeport station in Braintree should be finished by autumn next year.
David Bigg, chairman of the Witham and Braintree Rail Users’ Association, said: “I will not count my bricks until they start getting laid but it’s good news."
