A couple remain unhappy with “draconian” funeral expenses they were charged for burying their mothers.
Mavis and John White paid £2,706 administration costs to Hatfield Peverel Parish Council to bury Eileen White and Doris Roberts at St Andrew’s Church cemetery in the village.
The cost was six times the amount villagers are charged because the women lived in Witham.
Mr and Mrs White, who paid a total of £10,463 for the two funerals, have now asked MP Priti Patel to get involved.
