Police are hunting a van driver who struck a pedestrian with his wing mirror and drove off.

The pedestrian was struck in London Road, Braintree, at about 4pm on Monday last week.

He was walking on a footpath near Marshalls Park when a small, white van drove onto it.

The wing mirror hit him and the impact caused it to fold inwards.

Instead of stopping, the van driver carried on to the end of the road, where he got out and re-positioned his mirror before driving off.

The pedestrian was not seriously hurt and did not need hospital treatment.

The driver is described as white with shaven brown hair.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or can identify the driver is asked to contact the Dunmow road policing unit on 0300 333 4444.
