A schoolboy is fighting to keep his foot after a horror crash.
Graham Townley, eight, was in collision with a Mitsubishi 4X4 while he was crossing Church Street in Witham.
The Elm Hall Primary School pupil was on his way to an ice cream van when he was injured on Friday just before 5pm.
He was taken to Chelmsford’s Broomfield Hospital by air ambulance where he underwent 10 hours of reconstructive surgery on Monday to save his shattered right ankle.
