A twin town football tournament kicks off in Witham this weekend.
Female players from Germany and Poland are going up against Witham footballers and our ladies are aiming for a hat-trick of wins.
The tournament has been organised by Witham Town Ladies FC and Witham Twinning Association, with the help of Witham Town Council.
A team from Waldbröl, near Cologne in west Germany, and Polish side Swiebodzice will take to the turf in Witham as the tournament further cements the relationship between the three towns.
The tournament has been planned for over a year and the Witham women will be hoping for a third win after triumphing in Swiebodzice in 2008 and Waldbröl in 2006.
The tournament is today and tomorrow at Spa Road, the home of Witham Town FC.
