An Essex University student has joined her mother in standing for the Green Party in the forthcoming general election.

Daisy Blench, 22, has been selected as the party’s candidate for Braintree, while mum Felicity Norman is the party’s hopeful in North Herefordshire.

Miss Blench stood for election for Herefordshire Council aged just 19, but has since moved to the area as a student. Her mum said: “There is no stopping Daisy.

“Since going away, she has taken on roles of responsibility at her university and student union – she is one of life’s ‘can do’ types. We are very proud that she has risen to the challenge of the general election.

“She is highly articulate and would make an excellent MP.”
