School pupils joined in with adults to form a clean team and spruce up a Witham estate.
Tackling litter and fly tipping at Witham’s Templars Estate was the order of the day for Braintree Council’s Environmental Services team and Greenfields Community Housing staff.
The two organisations teamed up with residents and pupils from New Rickstones Academy in Conrad Road for a one day community clean up.
Wendy Schmitt, cabinet member for community, said: “We are working hard to make the Templars estate neighbourhood a more pleasant place to live.
“The partnership shows how local people, who are involved in their communities, really make a difference and we are keen to help them. Partnerships like this help to create a district in which everyone takes responsibility for making their community a cleaner, greener place to live.“ See the Witham Times for the full story.
