Headteachers of Braintree and Witham schools are split over whether to boycott SATs.
The National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) voted for a boycott of the tests which are due to take place between May 10-13. Headteacher Peter Anderson of St Peter’s Primary School in Myneer Park, Coggeshall, said he was in discussion with Feering Primary School and St Mary’s Primary School in Kelvedon about what action to take.
He hoped the three of them would boycott the SATs and instead carry out their own test which they would then moderate between themselves.
