Steven McMillan has high hopes for his venture.
A former professional snooker player will be opening a sports bar to the disappointment of nearby residents.
On Thursday, Steven McMillan’s application for a premises licence was successful despite residents' concerns about noise.
Mr McMillan, 31, of Willows Green, Chelmsford, has invested £27,000 in the refurbishment of what will become Mac’s Sports Bar in Panfield Lane, Braintree.
The venue will have card tables, snooker tables, pool tables, dart boards, gaming machines and will be open to over 18s.
