Our district has one of the highest numbers of young people not in education, employment or training.
Since April 2007, the Braintree district has had more NEETs than Maldon, Chelmsford and Brentwood, according to Braintree Council’s Economic Development Strategy Plan Update for 2010.
Braintree’s number of NEETs is about three per cent more than figures for Essex and England.
This number surges between June and October each year as a new cohort of young people from the district leave education.
