A rail watchdog has submitted proposals for the East Anglian rail line to the Department for Transport.
Bigger platforms, the Cressing loop rail link and additional station car parking are just some of the things requested by Witham and Braintree Rail Users’ Association in a document sent to the DfT as part of the Greater Anglian Rail Franchise consultation.
Last year the DfT announced that National Express would lose the East Anglia franchise from March 31, 2011.
As part of a consultation exercise, before the new operator is selected, comments were invited from rail users and pressure groups.
The consultation closed on April 19 and the Witham and Braintree association sent its suggestions on April 6.
