Aspiring hockey players had the chance to learn from an international player.

Year 7 pupils from Witham’s Maltings Academy were joined by youngsters from Notley High School, Braintree, Honywood Community Science School, Coggeshall, and Ramsey College and Hedingham School, both from the Halstead area.

The pupils took part in skills and drills, plus a mini hockey tournament.

Great Britain hockey team player Chloe Rogers met pupils and worked alongside Cathy Barber, from Witham Hockey Club, to give the girls a masterclass.

The session took place at Witham’s adult education centre, in Spinks Lane, last Thursday.
