A DAD is giving his sea legs a rest after a record-breaking race across the Atlantic in a rowing boat.
Solo rower Charlie Pitcher, 47, of Alderton Close, Felsted, won the 3,000 mile Woodvale Transatlantic Rowing Race.
After 52 days, six hours and 48 minutes at sea he rowed into Antigua, having set off from the Canary Islands, setting a new UK solo record by about seven days.
The dad-of-four said: “I'm so delighted to be back on dry land after more than a month-and-a-half alone at sea. The adventure was amazing but it's really given me a sense of perspective about what matters in life. I can't wait to see my wife and kids.”
