Pop megastar Robbie Williams has backed Witham’s Olly Murs to win the X Factor.

The star, who was pipped to the number one album slot at the weekend by JLS, told Liverpool’s Radio City 96.7 last week that the 25-year-old can go all the way.

He said: “He entertains, he’s good looking, he can sing and he’s funny.

“He’s a proper lad. I’ve met him and he’s a really lovely lad.”

The former Take That idol mentored this year’s contestants earlier in the live shows.
