Ellie Green and her step-father will cycle 100 miles through places that begin with the letters in Ellie’s name.
Little Ellie, 9, and her step-father Steve Rowley will be taking on the 100-mile sponsored challenge in aid of Ellie’s Cub group in Witham.
They will start out in East Hanningfield and finish by going past Elm Hall Primary School, Witham, passing Lower Bobbingworth Green, Little Bardfield and Ivy Hall, near Panfield, on the way.
The pair, of Brain Road, Witham, will set off on Friday and Mr Rowley said he expects to camp for two nights as part of the adventure.
Ellie, a member of 3rd Witham Cubs, will be helped out on the gruelling journey as the pair are riding an Orbit Routier tandem and Mr Rowley is an accomplished cyclist.
The bike is equipped with two computers for monitoring speed and distance and a full GPS system.
“We will be going through places which spell out Ellie’s name.
“I thought it would make it a bit more interesting and it is a good opportunity for us to get out together and we hope to raise a couple of hundred pound,” Mr Rowley said.
