At the society’s autumn show, more entries were displayed than at the earlier summer show.
The flower display was thin and there were no chrysanthemums, but the floral art attracted more entries. The children’s section was disappointing with only three entries.
Before next year’s show, there is an invitation to all gardeners, experts and beginners alike to enjoy an evening with Ken Akers, the Great Saling garden designer.
He will be giving a talk with slides, entitled Designing with Trees, Shrubs and Perennials through the Season, at 8pm on October 17, in the village hall.
Tickets cost £4 and are available from Sue Martin on 01371 850535 or John Smith on 01371 851378.
