A PLANNING application for regenerating Braintree’s bus station site is due to be made by October next year.
Braintree Council unveiled its initial vision for the land behind the town library in Victoria Street and Fairfield Road last month, which includes new council offices, a revamped bus park, shops, housing and a new community centre.
Spokesman Chris Trim said it is hoped a planning application can be made by October 2009, after consultations with residents, businesses and community groups this September and October.
Discussions will move to the Braintree local committee in November and in October a development brief outlining what would be welcome and possible on the site is due to be drawn up, which will go to potential investors to see if they are interested and think it is a viable project.
