A LONG-STANDING Indian restaurant has been recognised with a prestigious industry award.
The team at Balti Night, in Manor Street, Braintree, has received a Restaurant Guru 2024 award for its “excellence in food and service”.
Jakir Hussan, 32, is the managing director of the Indian restaurant, and runs it alongside his brothers.
The restaurant delivers to the Braintree and Halstead area.
The team was "pleasantly surprised" to receive the award last week, not expecting to receive the trophy and certificate from Restaurant Guru, a platform which lets visitors search for restaurants around the globe.
Restaurant Guru is a search platform that compiles and provides information on restaurants’ reviews, menus, photos, and adds ratings from agencies such as Google, Yelp, and Facebook.
Mr Hussan said: “It was an incredibly proud moment for me and the entire team.
“We were overjoyed to receive this recognition for our dedication and hard work in serving our community through our collection and delivery services.
“What I love most about my job is providing our customers with delicious food and exceptional service.
“It is incredibly rewarding to know that we're satisfying our customers' cravings and making their experiences convenient and enjoyable.”
The family business was started by Jakir’s father, Wazid Ali, who died in 2021.
Jakir wanted to be involved in the business as he is passionate about south Asian cuisine and wants to share it with others.
Over the last 37 years since Balti Night’s foundation in 1987, the business has been dedicated to “offering high-quality, flavourful dishes" which showcase the "rich culinary traditions of the Indian subcontinent" through its takeaway and delivery services.”
Moving forward, the restaurant is planning to celebrate the win with some exciting deals and special events at Balti Night but they will be announced on social media in the near future.
Jakir and the whole team are extremely thankful to Balti Night’s clientele.
