A FIRE has caused a section of a major Braintree road to be closed-off.
Traffic control has reported that a stretch of Notley Road is currently closed between Masefield Road and Longleaf drive due to a fire.
The incident was first reported at 1:46pm and motorists should expect some delays in the area.
Essex County Fire and Rescue has now confirmed the fire is in connection to a property located on the road and a shed was on fire but it had been extinguished.
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters are currently at the scene of a garden fire in Notley Road, Braintree.
"Four crews have extinguished a shed fire that spread to a garage.
"Please avoid the area while we deal with this incident."
The Braintree & Witham Times has also contacted Essex Police regarding the incident.
