A MAN with a history of violence could have travelled to Essex after making a break for it while on escorted leave from a secure hospital.
Kelvin John, 47, was on escorted leave from a secure hospital in Enfield on Wednesday, January 24 when he managed to get away.
He is said to have links to Braintree and Basildon, leading police to believe he could be heading to Essex from the north London area.
Metropolitan Police in Enfield have advised the public to not approach the escaped prisoner if he is seen due to him having a history of violence.
Officers are urging anyone who believes they have seen him to get in contact with the police immediately.
A police spokesman said: “John has a history of violence and should not be approached. Has links to Braintree and Basildon in Essex.
“If seen, call 999 immediately and quote 24MIS002469.”
