County champion Jenny Pease was victorious again at Braintree Golf Club ladies section's annual Club Championship.

Pease claimed victory after producing two excellent rounds of golf in the 36-hole competition, although the course played very hard in good conditions. The runner-up was Ann Snow, while the handicap prize went to Diana Hughes.

Two other competitions were played for by ladies who did not qualify for the championship.

The Sheppard Salver, played over 27 holes, was won by Braintree GC lady vice-captain Karen Aslett and the handicap prize by Geraldine Stuckey.

Jenny Day lifted the Tyrell Trophy, played over 18 holes, with Carol Pinhey runner-up.

Braintree GC's ladies section had earlier held their annual Mid-Summer Par competition.

It was won by the club's lady captain Larayne Heath, who finished with a par round playing to her handicap. She was followed closely by Ann Anderson and Mavis Ackerman, who also claimed par rounds.
