More than 100 jobs have been lost as a firm which manufactures office furniture has gone into administration.
Two former employees at JF Nott in Witham have said they were "disgusted" with the way redundancies have been handled.
On Monday JF Nott in Witham's Eastways industrial estate was handed over to Kroll - an international risk consulting company.
Sarah Smith and Adrian Barber, both 24, had been with the company for more than six years between them.
The couple, who live in Elizabeth Avenue, Witham, and have an eight-month-old baby daughter, Kelsie, said they feel they have been "kept in the dark" and the way the redundancies were handled made them "very angry."
