Oklahoma! opens tomorrow

CAST members have been putting in the extra hours ahead of a show opening this week.
With Oklahoma! coming to Burnham from tomorrow, members of the Soutminster Operatic and Choral Society (Socs for short) have been busy rehearsing the famous musical.
People have been eagerly buying tickets for the shows, which take place at St Peter's High School, Southminster Road, Burnham, with the Saturday evening performance already sold out.
Avril Goodridge, Socs spokeswoman, said members had been working hard since the start of the year and that everyone was excited about the upcoming shows.
She added: "We have been rehearsing this since the first week of January, when the auditions we held. Rehearsals started in the second week of January. All the costumes, except for four, have been hand made by our wardrobe department."
The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical will be performed by Socs this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm, with a matinee performance at 2.30pm on Saturday. Tickets cost between £6.50 and £9.Tickets are available from JCP Insurance (Brokers) Ltd and Altered Image (Tiles) in Burnham, and in Southminster from Jacki C Cards and Gifts and Lily Sage.
