TWO cousins are fighting extradition after Cyprus European arrest warrants were issued against them.

The Cypriot Supreme Court overthrew acquittals handed to Luke Atkinson and Michael Binnington by a lower court and last month sentenced them to three years imprisonment for culpable manslaughter and one year for grievous bodily harm, to run concurrently.

They were not allowed a retrial.

Lawyer Karen Todner, who is acting on Mr Atkinson and Mr Binnington's behalf, said the warrants will need to be translated, which could take some time.
