Couple escape car fire

A COUPLE escaped after their car rolled up an embankment, landed on its roof and caught fire.
The black convertible Ford Ka was burnt out after the blaze at 11.35am yesterday on the A12 just before Hatfield Peverel.
The woman and man had got out of the car before firefighters from Chelmsford and Witham arrived.
It took ten to 15 minutes to extinguish the flames.
Paramedics treated one of the couple for minor injuries and took them to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford as a precaution.
