CAPTAIN Fantastic Ali Carter will be fighting to come back in the biggest match of his career.

The snooker player from Tiptree trails 11-5 at the halfway point with two sessions remaining in his first ever World Championship Snooker final.

In the best of 35 (first to 18) encounter against Ronnie O'Sullivan, Carter went into the evening session on Sunday having lost the first session 6-2.

O'Sullivan then surged ahead to lead by five at 8-3 but Carter managed to reduce the deficit to just three frames.

But by the end of the second session O'Sullivan had managed to increase his lead to six with an 11-5 scoreline going into the final frame.

Carter now needs to win 13 of the remaining 19 frames to lift his first world title.
