Evason goal is scant consolation for Colne

Earls Colne were thrashed 4-1 by West Bergholt, in their final home game of the Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division season.
The visitors were looking to keep up a good run of form in pursuit of runners-up spot.
Skipper Lesiak was missing for Colne but Marcus Warren slotted neatly into the centre-back role.
Colne went behind when Mcllwaine met a cross from a corner and Johnston drove home through a mass of defenders.
Lister for Colne then went close as his shot was inches wide.
But Bergholt went further ahead as Johnston got away from Robinson and was adjudged to had fouled the winger in the box for a penalty.
Revie stepped up to score from the spot.
Lister went close with a volley before the interval as his shot was cleared off the line.
Revie hit the Colne woodwork early in the second period but after a number of corners, Bergholt seemed to have cleared their lines.
But Evason picked up the ball 30 yards out and sent a screamer with his left-foot past keeper Smith, to give the home side a lifeline.
Colne were then unlucky as a deft header by Coote came back off the woodwork, after a fine delivery by Wiskin.
Ashurst should have done better when free on goal but shot well before Colne gave the ball away on the flank, allowing Johnston to neatly fire past Puzey.
The Colne keeper pulled off some good stops.
But as the hosts pushed to get back into the game, McIlwaine punished the Blues.
He was allowed a free header to deservedly seal the points for Bergholt.
The reserves suffered the same scoreline at Little Oakley, with Gary Pearce on target for Colne.
Earls Colne have no game tomorrow but the club's reserves side travel to play Gas Recreation.
Colne travel to play Halstead Town on Tuesday night in the Tolleshunt D'Arcy Cup semi-final, 7.45pm kick-off.
On the same night, Colne reserves face Coggeshall at the Rec, kick-off 6.15pm.
