CHRISTIANS sang and worshipped through the night at a church's third annual charity praise-a-thon.
The 24 hour event at Cressing Evangelical Church raised money for Farleigh Hospice, which has helped members of its congregation in the past.
Young and old showed true stamina, with some staying the whole 24 hours, as others napped at the church or at home in shifts.
Organiser Louise Theobald, 25, said the event from 7pm Friday to 7pm Saturday September 15 was "incredible".
She said: "We sang between 260 and 300 songs and had several people come from different churches in Essex."
The combination of pre-recorded and live music included compositions by church members and Miss Theobald, a singer, guitarist and keyboard player with the band, said: "Farleigh do such an incredible work in this area."
