Six men have been arrested following an illegal rave held in a quarry.
Police were called to reports of loud music and discovered a rave in the quarry between Coggeshall and Bradwell at 3.50am on Sunday September 16 .
It had been happening for about three hours.
They stopped the 40-strong rave, and arrested a 19 year old from Brightlingsea, a 19 year old, 20 year old and 26 year old from Braintree, and a 22 and 24 year old from Witham.
They were arrested on suspicion of causing public nuisance and public order offences and are still in police custody.
Superintendant Tim Stoke said: "Essex Police will not tolerate illegal raves and will take robust and quick action to stop these events from happening."
