An independent dentist practice is celebrating 50 years serving the community in Witham.

To celebrate the milestone, 141 Dental Care, in Newland Street, will be running a series of events and giveaways throughout September to thank its customers.

There will be an open day, prizes and even cakes and Prosecco on offer for clients.

Carla Dunbar, dental nurse and infection control lead, has worked at the practice for more than 20 years.

She said: "It is about giving something back to our customers who have supported us for so long.

"We are having an open day for new and existing patients.

"We will have colouring competitions each week and we are planning giveaways for our customers."

The business was originally opened by John and Anne Goold back in 1968.

Dental Nurse Chris Baker has worked at the practice on and off since 1977.

She said: "I love the interactions with the patients. We get to watch the families grow up."

The practice remains in the same historic building, although the surgery as well as dentistry has changed dramatically over the years.

Mark Duncan, who is the principle dentist at 141 Dental Care along with with Kevin Singh, said: "I have been here for 21 years it has always been a good place to work.

"A lot of people have been here for 20 years which speaks for itself.

"It has always been a family practice. We have always tried to provide the best possible service for our patients and I think our clients recognise that.

"We will continue doing our best in the future for them."

The surgery, which remains independent, is hosting an open day on Thursday, September 20.
