HULLBRIDGE Sports are ‘already clicking’ according to manager Darren Manning.

Sports were unlucky to claim just a point against Barkingside in their Essex Senior League opener on Saturday.

They now face Southend Manor this evening looking to put three points on the board for the first time this term.

And Manning believes this season is shaping up to be very competitive.

“I think Saffron Walden Town are the favourites for the league this year and they drew with Redbridge on Saturday,” said Manning.

“Southend Manor beat Enfield at the weekend and then Enfield drew with Redbridge, so a lot can happen.

“Anyone can beat anyone and consistency will be key.

“We were very good at the weekend but to be fair to Barkingside they defended very well. We had some very good chances to win the game but it wasn’t to be.

“But we will only get better and I could already see the team clicking on Saturday, which bodes well.

“Southend Manor got a good result at the weekend but if we play to our potential then we can get the result we want.”
