SOUTHEND Manor manager Adam Peek has tipped Hullbridge Sports to be one of the teams to beat in the Essex Senior League this season.

Peek, who took over the club midway through last season, will face off against Darren Manning at Southchurch Park tonight.

Following a 2-0 victory against Enfield 1893 at the weekend, Peek is hoping for more of the same this evening.

“Saturday was a good result,” said the Manor manager. “We have a fairly new squad but we were well organised and disciplined throughout and we dominated the ball and created chances.

“We want to be difficult to beat and that is the ethos.

“Every team wants to get promoted but we want to improve and nothing less than the top five is where we want to be.

“Darren took over at a similar time to me and he has recruited well. I think they will be one of the underdogs to challenge this season and it will be difficult.

“But if we play like we did at the weekend then we have every chance.”

Lewis Sparrow and Charlie Barlow miss out while Charlie Little returns to the club.
