A managing director has been shortlisted for an entrepreneurial award by a national women’s networking group.

Robyn Holmes, co-founder of Prime Appointments, is in with a chance of winning the Female Entrepreneur award, run by Forward Ladies.

Having founded the Witham recruitment company in 1992, Mrs Holmes has taken an active role in supporting agency worker’s rights in the UK.

She played a vital role in ensuring agency worker’s rights are met, by advising the Recruitment Employment Confederation and Government representatives on agency worker regulations.

Employing nearly 50 members of staff, Mrs Holmes believes her positive and nurturing leadership style is the key to her business’ success.

She said: “I know from experience happy staff who feel they are part of the journey are much more inclined to do well at their job if happy in their work environment and valued and trusted by their managers.

“I am honoured to have been shortlisted for this award, it’s lovely to have such recognition, both for myself and Prime Appointments.

"Forward Ladies is an inspiring organization and I look forward to helping them inspire women to go after their goals."

The Forward Ladies National Awards and Summit is the country’s biggest celebration of successful businesswomen and female entrepreneurs.

An independent judging panel consisting of senior management leaders and founders from HSBC, and other businesses will make the final decision.
