I would through your newspaper make motorists aware the speed limit along Church Lane in Bocking is set at 30mph.
It is a built-up area and therefore motorists that persist in breaking the law by driving at such speeds they cannot stop their vehicle within the given distance set out in the Highway Code are running the risk of having their licence endorsed and a very heavy fine on top.
They are also putting other motorists and pedestrians at risk of being maimed with life changing injuries or killing them outright.
They also must realise that it places an extra burden on the police, fire and ambulance services, all of which have to be paid for out of the council tax.
All it takes is a little common sense and courtesy.
It also affects people’s car insurance premiums when motorists who have no thought for others just drive like lunatics.
