Fundraisers collected more than £3,000 for the air ambulance by hosting a charity golf day.

A total of 60 enthusiastic golfers took part in the event at Colne Valley Golf Club, Earls Colne, helping to raise £3,325 for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.

A cheque presentation was held at The Woolpack, in Church Street, Coggeshall, on Wednesday, July 18.

Business representatives joined the organisers in handing over the cheque to the air ambulance, which is based at the nearby Earls Colne Business Park.

Chris Hilder, one of the organisers, said: "We have finalised our figures for our golf day on the 1st June and we raised a brilliant £3,325.

"Sixty golfers took part at Colne Valley Golf club and we had hole sponsorship, a raffle, an auction and buffet at the Woolpack Coggeshall.

The golf day took place on June 1.
