A developer has donated a set of equipment to get schoolchildren outside and enjoying the outdoors.

CALA Homes gifted a bespoke forest school equipment set to Dunmow St Mary's Primary School, which included gloves, a magnifying glass, forks, saws and much more.

The school's grounds include a woodland area and a pond which provide the perfect environment to utilise the specialist equipment as part of its forest school programme.

Nicky Flook, forest school leader at the school, said: "We are so grateful to CALA Homes for their kind donation of equipment to our Forest School programme.

"The tools and gloves and den building equipment will enable us to cater for more children and will enhance the activities we are able to teach."

Forest School boosts children's social development, language skills, problem solving and risk assessment in fun and engaging ways and it also aims to encourage a love of the great outdoors.

Chris Roads, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes, said: "We hope this equipment donation will help the young children at Dunmow St Mary’s Primary School get involved in the Forest School programme and develop new skills.”
