One of the biggest and best live 70s disco bands in the UK will take to the stage for a blistering show of hits next month.

Uncle Funk and the Boogie Wonderband will perform at Braintree Arts Theatre on August 11 after a sell-out performance at the venue last year.

The band have previously played shows all around the world and are firm favourites at Glastonbury where they have been booked to headline a stage every year since 2015.

They will be at the very top of their game as they display incredible musicianship which will be combined with their eye-popping costumes and slick dance moves.

Uncle Funk, the singer, said: “We’re really looking forward to playing in Braintree again after the amazing reaction we had there last year.

“Dust off your boogie shoes and get ready for some outrageous 70s disco.”

Playing what they describe as the greatest hits of disco, volume one, the amazing renditions and eye-popping costumes are sure to make their show one of the most exciting live events you will see this year.

They regularly sell out venues all over the area and played Witham earlier this summer.

In the past they have also played the Braintree Arts Centre, Haverhill Arts, Dunmow Foakes Hall and Rhodes Arts in Bishop’s Stortford.

Their own fancy dress Christmas shows have become legendary and it is a sell out event each and every year.

For this year, the band have been invited back to Standon Calling Festival in Hertfordshire where they are excited to be headlining the opening night.

Other headliners include Bryan Ferry, Paloma Faith and George Ezra.

Tickets for the event are priced at £19 and can be bought from the Arts Theatre by calling 01376 556 354 or online from www.braintreeartstheatre.co.uk.
