The incident started outside Favourite Chicken & Ribs, in Witham
A man has denied assaulting another man in Witham.
Daniel Stephens, 22, of Calamint Road, Witham has been charged with assault.
He denied the charge when he appeared before Chelmsford Magistrates' Court yesterday (June 20).
The incident was reported to have happened in Newland Street on Saturday (June 16), just before 1.30am.
Stephens has been remanded in custody and will next appear before Chelmsford Crown Court on July 18.
