A POPCORN company is feeling pretty sweet as it prepares to have its corn hit supermarkets.
Retrocorn, which is based in Enterprise Court, Witham, will be popping up online with grocery seller Ocado at the end of this month.
Greg Taylor, popcorn-oisseur and owner of business, began making and selling the treat with his grandmother, Beryl, several years ago.
They used her kitchen to make it and she remained a brand ambassador until she died in 2015.
Mr Taylor said: "Remember sweets like rhubarb and custard, strawberries and cream, cherry pips, lemon and lime sherbets, and cola cubes?
"Well, we literally take those sweets and coat our popped corn with them.
"As the original chief-taster, nan would be proud of just how poppin’ the brand has become."
Mr Taylor explained that every room of his nan's house was soon filled with boxes waiting for delivery.
One day Beryl stubbed her toe on a box one too many times and suggested it was time to find somewhere bigger.
That was when it made the move to Enterprise Court.
The popcorn is suitable for vegans and gluten-free and the sweets are naturally flavoured and coloured.
