A health club and tennis centre is preparing to welcome a Royal visitor next month.

The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, is set to visit Prested Hall Health Club, Feering, on Monday, July 16.

The Queen’s third son will spend a day meeting a selection of youngsters and playing the ancient sport of Real Tennis with them as part of a year long series of engagements to generate support for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Charity.

Prested Hall is one of just 47 venues in the world to have the correct courts for the sport, and one of only three in the UK to have two.

The health club’s Real Tennis chairman Mike Norgrove said: “We’re absolutely delighted that His Royal Highness has chosen Real Tennis as a way of promoting the charity.

“The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a fantastic charity which has a life-changing impact on young people, and Prested are very pleased to be able to help with this initiative.”

Tickets to the event will include a champagne and canapés reception at the tennis centre during which His Royal Highness will play on court with Rob Fahey, the current world champion of the sport.
