WITHAM boxer Tom Ansell is pleased to have secured a place on another high-profile show for his fourth bout as a professional fighter next month.

The 25-year-old will be looking to extend his excellent start in the professional ranks by maintaining his perfect record and claiming a fourth straight win when he fights on a televised show at the iconic York Hall in Bethnal Green on June 15.

It is a show promoted by former heavyweight world champion David Haye and is being headlined by current Commonwealth heavyweight champion Joe Joyce.

The show is being screened on the DAVE television channel and Ansell is pleased to be able to perform in front of a wide audience ahead of a potential title shot himself.

Ansell, who will fight again at super welterweight, said: "I'm very thankful to be on a show like this - it's a very good show and a good chance to showcase myself.

"That will only benefit me when the chance comes to fight for a title myself.

"I've known about it for a few weeks and have only just been able to say anything, but I've been working very hard in the gym for it and feel in good shape.

"I want to step up now and put on a show when I'm fighting on TV.

"I'm not sure yet who I'm fighting as I leave all that to my coach; I just focus on what I have to do to as I want to make sure I outclass whoever it is."

The fight will be the first for Ansell working under new trainer Tony Pill at Dereck Chisora's gym in Mill Hill after previously working with Chelmsford-based trainer Mark Massow.

Ansell said the move came because of difficulties scheduling sessions with Massow, but while he was sorry to leave a coach who had guided him through three professional wins, he was enjoying his new base.

He added: "Mark Massow changed his job and we just couldn't get our schedules fitted together.

"We are still great friends and we always speak, but I've changed my coach now and I'm learning lots from Tony Pill.

"It's a great gym to work in and there are big-name boxers there - it's great to be around that type of atmosphere.

"There are belt holders and former belt holders and I am picking up so much just watching them working out and sparring."
